We like Los Campesinos! That’s probably pretty obvious, given that we ran away to Budapest without telling anyone to see them live. Their most recent album (“Hello Sadness”) came towards the end of last year, and I wasn’t able to go to any of the dates on their album-launch tour due to class and things. Long story short, they announced another tour, we got tickets, and saw them play The Liquid Room last Wednesday.
I’ve blogged about LC! numerous times – as has Carley – so I’m not going to bore you with the same old spiel. Instead, I’m going to show you the best of my pictures and talk about the support band, Tall Ships.
I’d seen Tall Ships mentioned on my Twitter feed a handful of times, but had never really got round to listening to them, and had no idea what to expect. I really like them though – their sound is kind of atmos-rock with a bit of Foals vibe. If I really had to compare them to someone though, I’d have to go with Scottish three-piece The Xcerts. They both have quite a distinctive sound; it’s more about the music than the words. If you like trying something a bit different, I would definitely recommend Tall Ships.
Anyway, here are some of my pictures:
